I am a 56-year-old writer and poet, who puts all the passions and emotions into writing. Although my qualifications and experience make me opt for a profession as a teacher, I am at heart an ardent writer. I am unmarried and therefore have no children, but I consider each article, story and poem I write `my child' and I put all the interest I would put in my own child, into my writings. I read and read and read (all the time, in fact!) and use all my information in my own writings. I study the different articles by writers, and learn new words, new phrases and new forms of expression which I can use in my own writings. Success has come to me late in life. Recently, I won a prize in an All-India Essay Writing Competition organized by Viva Education India where I represented the School where I worked, i.e., Cambridge School in K.R. :Puram, Bengaluru. Also, one of my articles, `Trees of Bengaluru' has been accepted by Reader's Digest and my short story enttiled `As Beautiful as the Blue Sky' has been accepted by Woman's Era. I love my writing, and my wish is that when it is time for me to go, people will say, "She gave her heart and soul and life for her writings."
