I had a dream. In my dream I went to the Oldham Wednesday second hand market. It was late in the day and it was almost closing time. I had to rush. It was a gray afternoon with a slight rain. I walked up and down the stall aisles looking for something of interest. Many stallholders were packing their items into cars and vans. There were many clothes and shoes on sale. One stall had some old Beano annuals. Dennis the Menace was on the cover. Not my thing. I wondered if I’d find any books. My eyes scanned back and forth. There! I was some told planes and cars. I went over trying to appear none too enthusiastic. I spied two biplanes: a silver Nieuport 17 and a light brown Spanish made Gloster Gladiator. Both were die-cast metal and in average condition with some bits missing. I talked to the store owner and we agreed the price of a fiva. It seemed a lot but I knew now was my only chance. She had some toy cars too; these were different ones and process. One was a collector’s item and worth £500! I took my purchase and continued to look round, happy that I’d found something. I loved planes and it made my day. I then saw a stall selling maps and charts. This was different. There were maps of islands and flight plans and more. They looked like ex-military or navigation ones. My eyes covered them all. I wanted the flight plans but the owner told me she was closing now and took fifteen for her son. I had to pick from what was left. I got a chart labeled Ratler Island. It showed a jagged but round island of smallish size. I wondered where it was? I picked four other charts and paid the stall owner. I was a amazed how cheap they were, just 10p!  Well, I’d spent my 5.50 and was now skint. Looked like I’d have to walk home…
